North Otago Farm Development
Tambo was engaged to carry out a comprehensive farm re-development, from border-dyke to spray irrigation, aimed at modernising and future-proofing operations. The project involved a complete overhaul of the farm’s infrastructure, ensuring that each component was designed with efficiency, sustainability, and long-term profitability in mind.
One of the central features of the re-development was the construction of a new 80-bail dairy shed, significantly improving milking efficiency and herd management. The new facility enhances the milking process with improved animal welfare, faster milking times, and a design tailored to meet the farm’s operational needs. In addition, a stock underpass was installed, allowing livestock to move safely and efficiently across the property without disrupting farm traffic or operations.
The development encompassed installation of new irrigation and stockwater systems, ensuring reliable access to water across the farm while optimizing irrigation for better water conservation. The project also included the development of new farm tracking and re-fencing, improving accessibility and safety across the farm, while providing secure and reliable grazing areas for the stock.
